Class of 2028
"Class of 2028" began with a simple image, the last school photograph, taken just before matriculation. Twenty six faces make up the series, one for each letter, A through Zed, each a different young person on the edge of adulthood. There is a specific kind of light in that final photograph, equal parts pride and uncertainty. These are portraits of a generation asked to choose a path, a subject, a career, without knowing what the world will look like by the time they arrive.
Education itself feels like a moving target, shaped daily by forces beyond any classroom. Artificial intelligence looms large in this uncertainty, quietly reshaping which jobs will exist, which skills will matter.
Each letter of the alphabet stands for one more voice in this chorus of the almost-grown. Together they form a kind of roll call, a record of a specific year, a specific fear, a specific hope. The school portrait has always been a farewell of sorts, but here it becomes something more, a question mark aimed at the future. "Class of 2028" does not answer that question. It simply holds the moment before the answer arrives.
